I took a stroll by the ocean,
Found a mala* made of pearls.
What is the value of these pearls
If they do not have golden counting shen?**
Don't mention Ari, Ari...
It breaks my heart,
Because my sweetheart
Has left me for America.
In one or two years
Return to India.
I, Penpa Tsering,
Await your return!
* Prayer beads similar to a rosary.
** Special beads used to count how many rounds of mala one prays.

For the Hunger Striker and for Thupten Ngodup who gave his life for Tibet in a blaze of fire on April 27, 1998
For days and days, for endless days
you kept your fast to free Tibet
Upholders of the nation's faith,
Brothers and sisters, we hail your deeds
To the end of April from March the tenth
We witnessed your courage as you kept the fast.
We Tibetans will make your courage ours
Inside and outside our ancestral home
All Tibetans take pride in what your've done
Our eyes fill with tears for the pain of our land
All Tibetans will unceasingly strive to be free
For we've vowed to cast off our nation's bonds
You, Thupten, incinerated blood and bone
For the freedom of the Land of Snows
For our nationhood and the soul of our race.
YOur martyrdom's forever inscribed in our hearts
Oh, Buddha of compassion, patron of our land
Encompass Thupten in your holy prayers
And receive him in the heaven of enlightenment
In the embrace of wisdom, your compassionate arms
Om Mane Padme Hum
Om Mane Padme Hum
Om Mane Padme Hum
Om Mane Padme Hum
Om Mane Padme Hum
Om Mane Padme Hum
Tibet's a nation, not a colony
Rise up, in exile or in Tibet,
Expel the atheist Red Chinese
And work without cease for liberty!

From the top of the mountain,
I offer this incense and prayer.
Gods and protectors of the Land of Snows,
May this offering empower you and help you prosper.
From the top of the mountain,
I offer this prayer.
May there be a free Tibet
Today for the people of Tibet!

Himalayan Mountain
Do not change/move remain firm
The youthful snow lion
shall return with pride with it's main
(the Himalayan mountain represents Tibet and the snow lion represents us. The main and pride represents our high spirits)
Father land father land, do not utter
reminds me of my father land
( the above stanza means when people talk about nation or country it reminds me of my country, which I do not have)
The happy land of Tibet
Wish there will be a day to see it
As we ascend and ascend
The land of snow comes into my mind
(meaning as we progress or educated or smarter or whatever, my country is reminded all the time)
The darkness over the land of snow
The rays of joy and happiness will come
